Patriots new Super Bowl LI favorite
It’s been a busy week of roster moves for the New England Patriots and now they find themselves as the favorite to win Super Bowl LI.
The Patriots were in the news a lot in the last week, starting by trading away Chandler Jones to the Cardinals for guard Jonathan Cooper and a second-round draft pick. The Patriots then acquired tight end Martellus Bennett and a sixth-round pick from the Bears for a fourth-round pick on their end.

According to oddsmakers at Bovada.lv, the Patriots are now favored to win Super Bowl LI next season, as they have 15/2 odds to prevail. The Steelers, Seahawks, Packers and Panthers are all listed at 10/1 to win the championship.
The trade of Jones was surprising as he had 12.5 sacks last season to lead the team and had 36 sacks over his four seasons with the Patriots. However, New England needed offensive line help, especially after the AFC Championship when it couldn’t block for Tom Brady. Bennett gives Brady a second tight end option to Rob Gronkowski, as New England has been able to utilize a two-tight end offense before. Bennett had 53 catches for 439 yards and three scores with the Bears last season but had 90 catches for 916 yards and six scores in 2014.
