Dolphins land Ndamukong Suh
MIAMI, FL (TheSpread) – The biggest prize in NFL free agency is heading to the Miami Dolphins as Ndamukong Suh has agreed to a record deal with to play in Miami.
The deal between Miami and Suh was reported this past weekend and expected to be signed as early as tonight. Suh will be getting a reported $114 million over six years with a record-setting $60 million in guaranteed money. He will be getting $60 million over the first three years of the contract.
According to the latest oddsmakers, the Detroit Lions entered the free agency period with 28/1 odds to win the Super Bowl in 2016 while the Miami Dolphins had 40/1 odds. You can expect both of those numbers to change once the free-agency period dies down.
Suh has spent his five-year career in Detroit, racking up a total of 239 tackles with 36 sacks over the five seasons. Suh is coming off a 2014 season where he had 53 tackles with 8.5 sacks to help lead the Lions to a playoff appearance with one of the league’s top defenses. Miami is coming off an 8-8 record last season where it ranked just 24th in the NFL in rush defense, allowing 121.1 yards per game. Suh will make an immediate impact in improving that number.
