Dragons vs. Battlehawks XFL Prediction
For the first time since 2015, football returned to St. Louis last week as the Battlehawks routed the Guardians in their XFL home opener. Will they also thump the Seattle Dragons on Saturday at 5:00 p.m. ET as a 11-point home favorite?

Seattle Dragons Latest
Seattle fell 24-12 to the Dallas Renegades last week as Brandon Silvers completed 21-of-34 passes for 204 yards with two touchdowns and one interception. Rickey Proehl’s son Austin led the Dragons in receiving, hauling in six-of-seven targets for 81 yards and a touchdown. Former Navy quarterback Keenan Reynolds also caught four passes for 37 yards.
St. Louis Battlehawks Latest
The Battlehawks did it all in their home opener, returning a kickoff for a touchdown off a reverse (it was also the first kickoff return for a touchdown this season), blocking a punt and converting on a 50-plus yard field goal in their 29-9 win over the New York Guardians. St. Louis rushed 37 times for a net of 156 yards and held an opponent to under 10 points for the second time in three games.
Game Prediction
I’m going to roll the dice and take the points in this game, even though the Battlehawks might have the best homefield advantage after three weeks. New York out-gained St. Louis 307 to 273 last week, gained more yards per play (3.9 to 2.7) and had a higher yards-per-pass attempt number at 7 to 6.6. But because of their issues on special teams, the final score looked worse than what it should have been given those key stats. Meanwhile, the Dragons were outgained by the Renegades last week, but it was a 12-12 game heading into the fourth quarter when Dallas scored 12 unanswered points. In other words, I think the line today is inflated based on what these two teams did a week ago, but the Battlehawks weren’t as dominant and the Dragons didn’t play as poorly as the final scores in those respective games would indicate.
