David Thomas Prop Odds
Could New Orleans Saints’ tight end David Thomas surprise and have an impact on Super Bowl XLIV on Sunday? Let’s check out his prop odds.
Oddsmakers from online sports book SPORTSBETTING.com have released odds for David Thomas in Super Bowl XLIV. Thomas is a backup, but he could have an impact if Jeremy Shockey (who has battled injuries in the postseason this year) is limited.
Thomas recorded 35 catches for 356 yards and one touchdown in 2009. His best game came in the Saints’ 24-17 loss to the Cowboys in Week 15 when he caught eight passes for 77 yards. He also had a four-catch, 66-yard, one-touchdown performance in the Saints’ 38-7 win over the Buccaneers in Week 11.
Thus far in the playoffs, Thomas has three catches for 32 yards in two games. He failed to record a catch against the Cardinals in the Divisional Round, but saw more action against the Vikings in the NFC Championship Game as Shockey was on a limited snap count.
Thomas’ impact will coincide with the health of Shockey. If Shockey is healthy (which he should be), then Thomas probably won’t factor into the Saints’ game plan that much and therefore, the “under” wager on total receiving yards, longest reception and total receptions represents a lot of value. However, if Shockey is limited then Thomas could easily cover the “over” on most (if not all) of his prop wagers for Super Bowl XLIV.
