MVP Odds: According to oddsmakers from online sports book Sportsbook.com, Ben Roethlisberger has the best odds among the Steelers players to win the Super Bowl MVP Trophy. His odds are 7/2, which are followed by Rashard Mendenhall at 15/2, Troy Polamalu at 15/1, Mike Wallace at 16/1, Hines Ward at 22/1 and James Harrison at 25/1. Emmanuel Sanders (35/1), Heath Miller (30/1), James Farrior (40/1) and Lawrence Timmons (40/1) are the long shots.
Player to Score First TD: Mendenhall has the best odds in this caretgory at 5/1, followed by Wallace at 8/1, Miller at 10/1, Ward at 12/1, Big Ben at 14/1, Sanders at 16/1 and Antonio Brown at 25/1. Mendenhall scored the first touchdowns for the Steelers in their two previous playoff games against the Ravens and Jets, respectively.
Ben Roethlisberger: Big Ben has an over/under for total passing yards of 240.5, an over/under for total passing attempts at 31.5 and total completions at 19.5. He also has an o/u of 60% for competition percentage, is –350 on the money line to score a rushing touchdown (+275 for those that want to bet against him scoring a rushing TD), and an o/u of 1.5 for total touchdown passes. One of the more fun prop bets on Big Ben is whether he’ll throw a TD pass (-200) or an interception (+160) first.
Rashard Mendenhall: The Pittsburgh running back has an over/under of 77.5 for total rushing yards and an o/u 3.5 for total rushing yards on his first carry. He also has an o/u of 15.5 for longest rush from scrimmage, an o/u of 15.5 for total receiving yards and an o/u of 1.5 for total receptions. He’s –160 on the money line to score a touchdown in the game, and +130 on the money line for those that don’t think he’ll reach paydirt.
Mike Wallace & Hines Ward: Wallace has an o/u of 67.5 for total receiving yards and an o/u of 3.5 for total receptions. Ward has an o/u of 42.5 for receiving yards and an o/u of 3.5 for total receptions. Wallace is –165 on the money line not to score a touchdown and +135 to score a touchdown, while Ward is –215 “No” and +175 “Yes” to score a TD.
Steelers Team Props: You can wager on what the Steelers’ first scoring play of the game will be. For their first score, oddsmakers list the Steelers at 9/2 to score a passing touchdown, 5/1 to score a rushing TD, 18/1 to score on a defensive or special teams TD, 7/2 for a field goal and 50/1 to score on a safety.
The Steelers are also –115 on the money line to be the team to score last in the first half and –110 to be the team to score last in the game. They’re +130 to score first and –160 to punt first, and are being offered as EVEN money to be the first team to reach 10 points (or more) in the game.
For the prop “Will the Pittsburgh Steelers score in every quarter,” a wager on “Yes” will net you +285 on the money line, while “No” is –375. If you think the Steelers will score first and win the game, they’re being offered at +250 on the money line and +275 to score first but lose the game.
Finally, for the Steelers “Margin of Victory” prop odds, Pittsburgh is being offer ed 9/2 to win by 1 to 3 points, 13/2 to win by 4 to 6 points, 13/2 to win by 7 to 10 points, 11/1 to win by 11 to 13 points, 12/1 to win by 14 to 17 points, 18/1 ton win by 18 to 21 points and 14/1 to win by 22 or more points.
