Super Bowl XLVII Prediction (Side)
NEW ORLEANS, LA (The Spread) – Will the Baltimore Ravens spring the upset over the San Francisco 49ers this evening in Super Bowl XLVII?
NFL Odds: According to oddsmakers from online sports book Bovada.lv, the Ravens are 4-point underdogs versus the 49ers and the total is 47.5. Baltimore enters play with a 13-6 overall record this year while San Francisco is 13-4.
Line Movement: The 49ers opened as 4.5-point favorites but the line has been bet down to 4 or even 3.5 at some sports books. As for the total, it opened at 48.5 but has been bet down to 47.5 at most places.
Public Betting: Of the wagers currently placed on this game, 58% of NFL public bettors currently favor the Ravens. This information is subject to change leading up to kickoff, however, so make sure you click on the link provided for the most up-to-date NFL public betting numbers.
NFL Playoff Free Pick: Take Baltimore. According to latest NFL trends, the Ravens are 4-0 against the spread in their last four playoff games, 4-1 ATS versus a team with a winning record and 4-1 ATS in their last five games overall. The Niners might have the better team on paper but the Ravens are playing their best ball of the season. Since the firing of Cam Cameron and the promotion of Jim Caldwell to offensive coordinator, Joe Flacco is playing his best ball of the season. Since a rough patch in the middle of the season when the team lost Ray Lewis to a triceps injury and cornerback Ladarius Webb to a knee injury, the defense is playing its best ball of the season. And with several switch ups since the start of the postseason, Baltimore's offensive line is playing at its best now, too. This is a fairly even matchup on paper and while the Ravens have the unenviable task of trying to contain Colin Kaepernick, take the points with a team that could win outright.
