Johnny Manziel enters treatment
CLEVELAND, OH (TheSpread) – Johnny Manziel didn’t have the rookie season he envisioned and he took a step toward changing that for next year, deciding to entering a treatment facility last week.
According to the Browns, through ESPN, Manziel decided to enter a treatment facility last week and he will be there over the next few weeks. His length of time in the facility will depend on doctor recommendations.
“Johnny knows there are areas in which he needs to improve in order to be a better family member, friend and teammate, and he thought the offseason was the right time to take this step,” Manziel adviser Brad Beckworth told ESPN. “On behalf of Johnny and his family, we’re asking for privacy until he rejoins the team in Cleveland.”
According to oddsmakers at Bovada.lv, Cleveland has opened next season with 66/1 odds to win Super Bowl 50. The Seattle Seahawks are the favorites with 5/1 odds while the New England Patriots have 7/1 odds.
Manziel only appeared in five games this season, with just one start. His lone start saw Manziel go 10 of 18 passing for 80 yards with two interceptions. He finished his first season 18 of 35 passing for 175 yards with two interceptions. He also had 29 rushing yards with one touchdown. His QBR was just 5.1.
