NEW ORLEANS, LA (The Spread) – Colin Kaepernick can cap off an amazing rookie season with a win on Sunday in Super Bowl XLVII. Will he lead the 49ers to victory?

View Updated 2013 Super Bowl Odds

According to oddsmakers from Bovada.lv, Kaepernick is actually the favorite to win the Super Bowl MVP Award, as he has 8/5 odds to win. He has also been given over/under odds of 232.5 passing yards and 50.5 rushing yards for Sunday’s game against the Ravens.

Kaepernick has been the hottest thing in the NFL since being named starting quarterback for the 49ers in week 10 of the season. His season total stats are 1,814 passing yard and 415 rushing yards, but he has thrown for at least 233 yards in three of his eight starts and rushed for at least 51 yards in three of his eight starts during the regular season. In the playoffs, Kaepernick has had some impressive numbers. He threw for 263 yards while rushing for 181 against the Packers. He then threw for 233 yards and rushed for 21 in the NFC Championship.

Kaepernick will be facing a defense that has had average results during the season. Baltimore ranked 12th in total defense during the regular season, allowing 122.8 rushing yards and 228.1 passing yards per game. Even in a 28-13 win in the AFC Championship, the Ravens still gave up 428 total yards to the Patriots. The key for Kaepernick getting strong totals is his ability to run. The Falcons focused on not letting Kaepernick beat them, which opened the door for Frank Gore to have a big game. If the Ravens don’t put all their focus on stopping Kaepernick, he could make some big throws and some big runs. Otherwise, Kaepernick will have to concede the rushing yardage to his running backs.
