Super Bowl XLVIII Injuries
(The Spread) – How will injuries impact Sunday’s Super Bowl XLVIII? Here is a breakdown of the injuries for the Broncos and Seahawks.
The Super Bowl features the Seattle Seahawks taking on the Denver Broncos on Sunday at 6:30PM ET from MetLife Stadium (View Matchup). According to oddsmakers from Bovada.lv, the Broncos are the favorites in this game, as they have odds of -2 points against the Seahawks. The over/under total for the game currently sits at 48 points.
When it comes to injuries for Denver in this game, The Broncos are largely healthy. The team will be without key players on defense like cornerback Chris Harris and Von Miller, who will both be out with knee injury, but have been out for multiple weeks already. Defensive tackle Sione Fua is listed as questionable with a calf injury. Fua has missed practice all week because of the injury and it is unknown if he will play.
For Seattle, their injuries are also not too recent. The team has dealt with plenty of injuries and issues on the defense, but it hasn’t impacted the team too severely. Cornerbacks Tharold Simon, Brandon Browner and safety Jeron Johnson will all miss the game. Simon has a foot injury and Johnson has a hamstring injury while Browner has been suspended for the game. Defensive end Greg Scruggs is also out, due to a knee injury he suffered early in the season. One player expected to play that has missed a lot of time this season is receiver Percy Harvin. Harvin suffered a concussion in the playoff game against the Saints that caused him to miss the NFC Championship, but he is expected to play on Sunday.
