Frank Gore Prop Odds
NEW ORLEANS, LA (The Spread) – Frank Gore has had some of his best games of the season in this year’s playoffs. Will that trend continue in Super Bowl XLVII?
According to oddsmakers from Bovada.lv, Gore has 7/1 odds to win the Super Bowl MVP award on Sunday against the Ravens. The 49ers running back also has been given over/under odds of 82.5 rushing yards and 20.5 rushing attempts.
Gore had a respectable, but somewhat underwhelming regular season. He rushed for 1,214 yards on 258 carries this year. That works out to an average of 75.8 rushing yards per game along with 16.1 carries per game. In the playoffs, Gore has been very solid. He has rushed for 209 yards (104.5 ypg) on 44 carries (22 per game). With the added emphasis on quarterback Colin Kaepernick running the ball, teams have put less focus on stopping Gore, which can open the door for him to have a big game. He has had at least 83 rushing yards in nine of the team’s 18 games and had at least 21 carries in five of the 19 games.
The Baltimore Ravens weren’t known for being great at stopping the run during the regular season. The Ravens were 20th in the NFL in run defense, allowing 122.8 yards per game on the ground. The Ravens haven’t faced tremendous running backs in the playoffs thus far. Baltimore held New England to 108 rushing yards in the AFC Championship. The Broncos rushed for a total of 125 yards against the Ravens and the Colts had 152 yards on the ground. It appears Gore will get his chances to make an impact, but he will have to break some tackles and stay patient to have a big game for the 49ers.
