Randy Moss Super Bowl Props

2013-49ers-moss01-360

NEW ORLEANS, LA (The Spread) – Randy Moss hasn’t exactly been an impact player this season for the 49ers, but can he breakout with a big game in Super Bowl XLVII?

View Updated 2013 Super Bowl Odds

According to oddsmakers from Bovada.lv, Moss has been given 50/1 odds to win the Super Bowl MVP award on Sunday. He also has been given over/under odds of 35.5 receiving yards and 2.5 receptions.

Not much was known about what to expect from Moss this season when he joined up with the 49ers. Though he played in every game this season, he had just 28 receptions for 434 yards and three touchdowns on the year. That was an average of 1.75 receptions and 27.13 yards per game. His numbers haven’t been much better in the playoffs, as he caught five passes for 71 yards in two playoff games, but is without a touchdown. Moss has been targeted four times in each of the playoff games and he also has been targeted at least four times in San Francisco’s last seven games overall.

The Ravens had a suspect passing defense this season. Baltimore allowed an average of 228.1 passing yards per game, which ranked 17th in the NFL. One other factor is that the 49ers aren’t much of a passing offense, San Francisco averaged just 221.9 passing yards per game this season. The focus of the 49ers is on the run game with Frank Gore, Colin Kaepernick and LaMichael James. Moss has had better overall numbers with Kaepernick at quarterback, but his highest yardage total with him at QB has been 46 yards.
