NEW ORLEANS, LA (The Spread) – Aldon Smith has been a tough man to keep out of the backfield this season. Will the linebacker have a big impact in Super Bowl XLVII on Sunday?

View Updated 2013 Super Bowl Odds

According to oddsmakers from Bovada.lv, Smith has been given 50/1 odds to win the Super Bowl MVP. The 49ers linebackers has also been given over/under odds of 1 sack and 3.5 tackles for Sunday’s meeting with the Ravens.

Smith had a great regular season, as he pushed to set a new single-seas sack record, nabbing 19.5 sacks and 66 total tackles. Despite that, he has been very quiet in the playoffs. In the two games for San Francisco, he has just three total tackles and no sacks. Smith has had at least 1 sack in 10 of the team’s 18 games this season. He also amassed at least 4 tackles in 10 of the 18 games on the season.

The Ravens didn’t do a great job of protecting Joe Flacco this season. Baltimore allowed 38 total sacks during the regular season, which is an average of 2.4 per game. During the playoffs, the Ravens have also given up some sacks. New England posted two in the AFC Championship game last week. Denver, which has a solid pass rush, only picked up one sack in a double-overtime game with the Ravens. The Colts also picked up a single sack in the playoff opener.
