EAST RUTHERFORD, NJ (The Spread) – Zach Miller isn’t always a big part of the Seattle offense, but the tight end could play a big role in Super Bowl XLVIII.

According to oddsmakers from Bovada.lv, Miller isn’t expected to have a huge impact in Sunday’s game against the Broncos. The over/under odds for his receptions has been set at 2, and the over/under odds for his receiving yards has been set at just 24.5 yards.

Miller finished third this season in receiving yards for Seattle, as he brought in a total of 33 passes for 387 yards. He was also targeted 56 times, which ranks third on the team.

Miller averaged 27.6 yards and 2.06 receptions per game during the regular season.

In the postseason, Miller has been somewhat quiet. He caught just one pass for 11 yards in the win over the Saints, while bringing in 3 passes for 25 yards in the NFC Championship Game. The good news is he caught every pass thrown to him, the bad news is he was targeted just four times in the two games combined. Miller has had at least 2 receptions in 10 of Seattle’s 18 games and he had at least 25 receiving yards in just six games.

The key to Miller’s success will likely fall on quarterback Russell Wilson, who has been struggling toward the end of the season and in the playoffs. When targeted, Miller can make an impact. He averaged 11.7 yards per reception this season, so just a pair of catches may be enough for him to eclipse 25 yards. Denver had the 27th-ranked passing defense in the NFL this season, giving up an average of 254.4 yards per game through the air.
