Pats 0-4 ATS in recent Super Bowls
GLENDALE, AZ (The Spread) – On Sunday the Patriots will take on the Seahawks in Super Bowl XLIX and New England has struggled to cover the number in recent NFL title games.
According to oddsmakers from online sports book BetDSI, the Patriots are currently 1-point favorites versus the Seahawks while the over/under total is sitting at 48 points.
The Patriots are 0-4 against the spread in their last four Super Bowl games and 0-4 against the number in their last four games in February. The lost outright to the Giants 21-17 in Super Bowl XLVI as a 2.5-point favorite and also as a 12.5-point favorite in Super Bowl XLII when they lost to New York, 17-14.
The Patriots did win Super Bowl XXXVIII against the Panthers 32-29 but failed to cover as a 7-point favorite. They also beat the Eagles 24-21 in Super Bowl XXXIX the following year but once again failed to cover the number as a 7-point favorite. The last time New England covered the spread was the last time it was an underdog, beating the Rams 20-17 as a 14-point dog in Super Bowl XXXVI.
