Latest Super Bowl XLVIII Odds
(The Spread) – We are just one week away from Super Bowl XLVIII. Here is a look at the latest odds for next Sunday’s contest.
The Super Bowl features the Denver Broncos taking on the Seattle Seahawks from MetLife Stadium in East Rutherford, NJ at 6:30PM ET (View Matchup). According to oddsmakers from Bovada.lv, the Broncos are the favorite to win the game, as they have been given odds of -2 points against the Seahawks. The over/under total for the game currently sits at 47 points.
Seattle opened this game immediately as a 1-point favorite, but the spread quickly turned over to the side of Denver, growing to a peak of -2.5 points before settling in currently at 2. The over/under total opened at 47.5 points and climbed to a high of 48 last week before settling in at 47.
Both teams have gone 15-3 on the season, including a pair of playoff wins. Seattle is 12-6 against the spread in the 18 games while Denver is 11-6-1. Seattle has hit the under in 12 of its 18 games, while Denver has hit the over in 11 of its 18 contests.
A lot about this game will be made of the weather, as Peyton Manning has struggled in the past with cold-weather games. Seattle, on the other hand, is accustomed to playing in the cold from playing in Seattle. Denver is as well, but Manning is not as accustomed to it.
The current forecast for next Sunday in East Rutherford calls for a light wintry mix with a 50 percent chance of precipitation throughout the day. The temp around game time is expected to be 26 degrees with winds blowing west-northwest at 7 miles per hour. So, while it will be cold, the wind will be more than tolerable.
