View Updated Super Bowl XLVIII Odds

According to oddsmakers from online sports book Bovada.lv, Broncos’ quarterback Peyton Manning is the favored to win the MVP award at 8/5 while Seahawks’ signal-caller Russell Wilson has the next-best odds at 13/4. Marshawn Lynch is 6/1, while Demaryius Thomas, Wes Welker, Richard Sherman and Percy Harvin are all 16/1, respectively. Harvin suffered a concussion two weeks ago in the Divisional round of the NFL playoffs, but he’s expected to practice this week and be ready for the Super Bowl in two weeks.

Continuing with the MVP odds, Denver running back Knowshon Moreno is 18/1 to win, while his teammate Eric Decker is 20/1 and Julius Thomas is 25/1. Seattle wideout Golden Tate and safety Earl Thomas are 33/1, respectively, while Doug Baldwin is 40/1 and both Montee Ball and Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie are 50/1, respectively.

The long-shots to win this year’s Super Bowl MVP award are Kam Chancellor, Danny Trevathan and Champ Bailey at 66/1, respectively, and Zach Miller at 75/1. Matt Prater, Steven Hauschka, Duke Ihenacho and Michael Bennett are all 100/1, respectively, while the rest of the field is 20/1.

The Super Bowl opened as a pick’em but the spread has jumped to 2 or even 3 at some books, in favor of Denver. Kevin Bradley, Sports Book Manager at Bovada.lv, had this to say about the point spread for the big game:

“It was the perfect storm for the book on Sunday as we had the right side of both games and took off the table any Super Bowl future book exposure that could have been damaging,” Bradley said. “While money over the last few weeks moved to an early Super Bowl line of NFC -2.5; Denver's strong performance against New England combined with the Hawks grind 'em out style of football puts Denver at -3 and currently two thirds of the early money is on them to cover.”
