The 49ers come into this game as the slight favorite, as they have odds of -3.5 points on the road against the Falcons in Atlanta. The over/under total for the game has been set at 48 points. According to oddsmakers from Bovada.lv, the Falcons have been given over/under odds of 23 points, while the 49ers have odds of 27.5 points for Sunday’s game.

The Falcons ranked seventh in the NFL in scoring offense this season, averaging 26.2 points per game. The Falcons posted at least 23 points in 14 of the 17 games they have played in this season. In two of the three games they didn’t, they were at home in the Georgia Dome. San Francisco had the second-best scoring defense in the NFL this season, allowing an average of just 17.1 points per game. However, Seattle was first in the NFL at 15.3 points per game, but that didn’t stop the Falcons from posting 30 points on the Seahawks last week. The 49ers only allowed at least 23 points in six games this season, including last week’s playoff game.

San Francisco averaged a total of 24.8 points per game during the regular season, which put the 49ers 11^th in the NFL. The 49ers only scored at least 28 points in six of their 16 regular season games. The 49ers did score 45 points last week, but that came at home. Atlanta had a deceivingly strong defense this season, as the Falcons gave up a lot of yards, but kept teams out of the end zone. Atlanta allowed an average of just 18.7 points per game, which ranked fifth in the NFL. Atlanta only gave up 28 points in four of the 17 games it has played in, two of which were at home. Still, the oddsmakers are giving the 49ers offense a lot of love heading into this game with this lofty point total.
