AFC Championship Prop Odds

DENVER, CO (The Spread) – A lot of focus on the AFC Championship is on the quarterbacks, but will the running backs decide who wins when the Denver Broncos host the New England Patriots?

View Current NFL Odds

While Peyton Manning and Tom Brady will likely play their role, it could be Knowshon Moreno and LeGarrette Blount that decide who wins on Sunday. According to oddsmakers from Bovada.lv, Moreno has been given an over/under of 77.5 rushing yards for Sunday’s game. Moreno rushed for 1,038 yards and 10 touchdowns this season, an average of 64.9 yards per game. Moreno had a quiet end to the season, but had 82 yards on 23 carries last week against the Chargers. In the loss to the Patriots in November, he posted a season-high 224 yards on 37 carries. He has posted at least 78 yards in seven of the team’s 17 games this season. New England came into the playoffs with the 30th-ranked rushing defense in the NFL, allowing 134.1 yards per game on the ground.

When it comes to Blount, he has been given over/under odds of 72.5 rushing yards against the Broncos. Blount rushed for 772 yards during the season, an average of 48.3 yards per game. However, he has had a big role in the New England offense over recent weeks. Last week in the win over Indianapolis he had 166 yards and four scores on 24 carries. In the season finale against Buffalo, Blount rushed for 189 yards and two scores on 24 carries. He posted 76 yards on 16 carries against Baltimore in Week 16. He had just 13 yards on two carries in the meeting with Denver on Nov. 24, but appears to be the go-to back for New England in this game. That can all change should Blount fumble the ball, but he has lost just two fumbles this season. Denver had the eighth-best rushing defense in the NFL this season, allowing just 101.6 yards per game.
