NFL Line Movement Report
LAS VEGAS, NV (The Spread) - Here's the latest scoop on the line movements in both NFL championship games this Sunday.
The Broncos opened as 6.5-point favorites over the Patriots following their narrow seven-point victory over the Chargers last Sunday. Oddsmakers immediately realized that they made a mistake because the line for that game dropped all the way down to 4.5 with money coming in on the Patriots. But according to oddsmakers from online sports book Bovada.lv, the line up a little again, with Denver now listed at -5.5.
As for the total in the New England-Denver matchup, it opened at 54.5 and has slowly been on the rise ever since. It's reached as high as 56.5 at some online sports books, while other places have the number listed at it 55.5 or 56. The over is 4-0 in the last four meetings between these two teams and 7-2 in the last nine meetings in Denver.
The NFC title game hasn't since as much line movement throughout the week. Even though most of the money is coming in on the 49ers, the Seahawks remain a 3.5-point favorite at most books. At one point earlier this week, the number did drop to 3 but it quickly was bet back up to 3.5.
As for the total, it opened at 40.5 and immediately was bet down to 40. The under kept getting bet as the number dropped to 39.5 and now 39, which is where it currently sits at most books. With the under hitting in four of the last five meetings between these two teams, some books even list the total as low as 38.5.
The AFC championship game will take place this Sunday at 3:00PM ET in Denver while the NFC title match will occur following the Broncos-Patriots at 6:30PM ET from Seattle.
