Can Luck throw for 300 yards?
FOXBOROUGH, MA (The Spread) – Andrew Luck looks to take another step toward history on Sunday when he leads the Colts against the Patriots in the AFC Championship. How will he perform in the big game?
According to oddsmakers from BetDSI, Luck has been given an over/under of 295.5 passing yards for Sunday’s game, while his total for completions has been set at 25.5 and touchdown passes has been set at 2.
Luck had the best season of his three-year career in 2014, as he went 380 of 616 passing for 4,761 yards and 40 touchdowns with 16 interceptions. Luck’s previous high in passing touchdowns was just 23, which he did in each of his first two seasons as QB of the Colts.
In the playoffs, Luck has been pretty solid, but not quite perfect. He was 31 of 44 passing for 376 yards and one touchdown in the win over the Bengals. Luck then went 27 of 43 passing for 265 yards with two touchdowns in the win at Denver last week. In the Nov. 16 meeting with the Patriots at home, Luck was 23 of 39 passing for 303 yards with two touchdowns.
This season, Luck has thrown for at least 296 yards in 11 of the Colts’ 18 games this season. He has completed at least 26 passes in eight games while throwing for two touchdown passes or more in 14 games. Luck is facing a rather tame defense on Sunday, as the Patriots are 17th in the NFL in passing defense, allowing 239.8 yards per game through the air.
