Who will be Denver’s next head coach?
DENVER, CO (The Spread) – Who will be the next head coach of the Denver Broncos? The current odds favor Gary Kubiak, their former offensive coordinator.
On Monday John Fox and the Broncos mutually agreed to part ways after Fox coached in Denver over the past four seasons. He was highly successful with the Broncos, taking the team to the playoffs in four straight seasons, which included a Super Bowl berth in 2013-14.
With Fox out, who will be the next head coach in Denver? According to oddsmakers from online sports book Bovada.lv, Kubiak is the current favorite at 5/2 while Mike Shanahan is 7/2. Somewhat ironically, Kubiak was Shanahan’s offensive coordinator from 1995 to 2005 before taking the head coaching job in Houston. Shanahan, meanwhile, was the head coach in Denver from 1995-2008 before being fired and taking over as head coach in Washington from 2010 to 2013.
Continuing with the odds, Seahawks defensive coordinator Dan Quinn is 4/1 to become the next head coach of the Broncos while Adam Gase is also 4/1 to be prompted from offensive coordinator to head coach in Denver. Jack Del Rio, meanwhile, is 6/1 to become the Broncos next coach after coordinating the defense under Fox over the past four years.
