Chargers vs. Broncos Prop Odds

2013-broncos-manning01

DENVER, CO (The Spread) – Can Peyton Manning lead the Denver Broncos to a playoff win over the San Diego Chargers today? Here is a look at the prop odds for this game.

View Current NFL Odds

According to oddsmakers from Bovada.lv, Manning has been given over/under odds of 325.5 passing yards for Sunday’s game. Manning set a new NFL single-season record this year by throwing for 5,477 yards, which is an average of 334.8 yards per game. In Denver’s win at San Diego, Manning threw for 330 yards and four touchdowns. In the loss at home to the Chargers, Manning had 289 yards and two scores. Manning has surpassed 326 passing yards in 10 of his 16 games on the year. One of the ones where he didn’t was the season finale in which he sat out most of the second half. The Chargers were not strong against the pass this year, averaging 258.7 yards per game allowed through the air, which ranked 29th in the NFL.

The Chargers don’t have a lot of prop odds available due to some injury questions heading into the game. One player that will need to step up on Sunday for San Diego is receiver Keenan Allen. The rookie receiver has been given over/under odds of 67.5 receiving yards for this game. Allen had a great first year, catching 71 passes for 1,046 yards to lead San Diego. He averaged 69.7 yards per game this year. Allen was quiet last week, catching just two passes for 21 yards. In the first meeting with Denver at home, Allen caught four passes for 41 yards. In the win at Denver he had just two catches for 29 yards. The key to Allen’s performance on Sunday will be the game plan of San Diego. If the Chargers look to air it out, Allen will do well. When he has been targeted at least eight times in a game, he has had at least 89 receiving yards. That has happened six times this season. Denver has the 27th-ranked passing defense in the NFL. The Broncos allowed an average of 254.4 passing yards per game this season.
