Packers a 5.5-point favorite today
GREEN BAY, WI (The Spread) – Sunday’s NFL playoff action gets started at 1:05PM ET when the Green Bay Packers play host to the Dallas Cowboys on FOX.
The Packers won their last two games and seven of their last eight to claim the NFC North title and earn the second seed in the NFC playoffs. The Packers went 12-4 on the year and 9-6-1 against the spread. Green Bay covered in its last two games and went 5-1 ATS in its last six at home. The Packers have hit the under in four of their last six games.
The Cowboys have won five straight, including a 24-20 win over the Detroit Lions in last week’s playoffs. Dallas is the NFC East champion after going 12-4 in the regular season. The Cowboys are 10-7 against the spread on the season and they have covered in four of their last five games, hitting the over in five of their last eight.
According to oddsmakers from BetDSI, Green Bay is the favorite at home, as the Packers are getting odds of -5.5 points against the Cowboys. The over/under total for the contest has been set at 52 points (View Matchup). The Packers have won and covered the spread in three straight against the Cowboys, but the two didn’t meet this season.
The real question heading into this game is how healthy is Green Bay quarterback Aaron Rodgers, who has a tear in his calf. Will his mobility be limited, and if so, how much? The Packers have a somewhat balanced offense, but Dallas has been strong against the run, so the Packers will have to throw. Dallas is allowing 255.2 passing yards per game this season and Rodgers has thrown for 4,381 yards and 38 touchdowns.
