Chargers vs. Broncos Odds
DENVER, CO (TheSpread) – Nothing is at stake other than bragging rights when rivals San Diego and Denver meet on Sunday night to close the NFL season.
The Chargers are 8-7 on the season and 2-5 on the road while the Broncos are 4-11 overall and 3-4 at home. Trends show that the Chargers are 7-1-1 against the point spread odds in their last 9 games with Denver and 3-0-3 ATS in their last 6 in Denver.
Opening odds had San Diego favored by 3.5 points. The spread dropped to 3 points before closing back at 3.5. The over/under total opened at 47.5 points and also fell back to 47 before returning to its opening mark.
San Diego is 8-7 against the point spread odds this season and the Chargers are 7-7-1 on the over/under this season. The Chargers saw their playoff hopes end last week in a 34-20 loss to Cincinnati. The Chargers have struggled on the road this season but still be a solid offense, averaging 27.2 points per game while allowing just 19.6 points per contest. Philip Rivers has had a great season for San Diego, throwing for 4,397 yards and 30 touchdowns with 12 interceptions.
Denver is 5-10 against the point spread odds this season and the Broncos have hit the over in 9 of 15 games. The Broncos snapped a 5-game losing streak last week with a 24-23 win over Houston. Tim Tebow led the Broncos to the win as he threw for 308 yards and a touchdown while rushing for the game-winning score in the fourth quarter. Tebow has thrown for 449 yards and three touchdowns while rushing for five more this season.
In terms of injuries, San Diego receiver Patrick Crayton is questionable with a wrist injury while Denver cornerback Champ Bailey is doubtful with an ankle injury.
