JACKSONVILLE, Fla. (AP) -Bobby Bowden’s final game at Florida State has arrived.
After 34 years at Florida State and his 44 years as a head coach, Bowden will lead his team onto the field for the final time Friday when the Seminoles (6-6) face No. 18 West Virginia (9-3) in the Gator Bowl.
Could there be a better tribute for a history buff like Bowden? His path began at West Virginia when he became the head coach there in 1970. Bill Stewart was a walk-on at West Virginia that year; he’s the coach of the Mountaineers today. And hundreds of Bowden’s other former players will be in the stands for his farewell.
