DETROIT (AP) -Frank Solich is used to preparing for a bowl around the holidays.
He’s just adjusting to being out of town on Christmas, not New Year’s Day.
The former Nebraska coach has his Ohio Bobcats in Detroit as they prepare for Saturday’s Little Caesar’s Pizza Bowl matchup against Marshall at Ford Field.
With the Cornhuskers, Solich coached in multiple BCS bowls, including the 2002 Rose Bowl, that season’s national championship game. Nebraska lost 37-14 to a Miami team featuring Andre Johnson and Jeremy Shockey.
In his five seasons at Ohio, though, Solich has been rebuilding the program, so even spending Christmas at Ford Field is a bonus for him.
