NORFOLK, Va. (AP) – Norfolk State has hired Virginia State’s Latrell Scott as its football coach.
The announcement was made Tuesday by interim school President Eddie N. Moore Jr. and athletic director Marty L. Miller.
The 39-year-old Scott compiled a 19-4 record in two seasons with the Trojans, including a 15-0 record against Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association opponents. They were 10-3 this season and won their first outright CIAA championship since 1996 and the first NCAA Div. II playoff game in program history.
This is Scott’s third stop as a head coach.
He was the head coach at Richmond in 2010 and has been an assistant coach at James Madison (2012), Virginia (2009), Tennessee (2008), Richmond (2005-07), VMI (2002-04) and Western Carolina (2001).
He replaces Pete Adrian, who retired after 10 seasons.
