SYRACUSE, N.Y. (AP) -New Orleans Saints offensive coordinator Doug Marrone is the new football coach at Syracuse.
Marrone is a former captain at Syracuse in the mid-1980s, and the school said Friday he will succeed Greg Robinson. He was fired last month after compiling a 10-37 record in four seasons.
This will be Marrone's first stint as a head coach. He traveled to Syracuse on Sunday following the Saints' victory over the Atlanta Falcons for a second interview with athletic director Daryl Gross.
