LAKE BUENA VISTA, Fla. (AP) - Heisman favorite Jameis Winston says he is humbled by all the attention he has received in the week since he led Florida State to a spot in the BCS national championship game.
The freshman quarterback joins Texas A&M quarterback Johnny Manziel and Alabama quarterback AJ McCarron as the only multi-award nominees for Thursday's College Football Awards Show. All three are up for the Maxwell Award given to the nation's top player and the Davey O'Brien quarterback award.
Manziel has a Heisman vote as a past winner. He says he didn't vote for himself, but wouldn't reveal his choice.
McCarron, a fifth-year senior with three national titles, says he wouldn't feel slighted if a freshman won the award for a second straight year.
