KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (AP) -University of Tennessee officials say they are “cooperating fully” with the NCAA in its investigation into some of the school’s football recruiting practices.
In a statement released Wednesday Tennessee officials said they are concerned about “alleged activities” by members of a group called Orange Pride. The group provides campus tours and hosts prospective athletes and their families.
The university says the group of “ambassadors” is instructed to follow school and NCAA guidelines in its orientation and training.
The New York Times reported on its Web site Wednesday the NCAA is probing the use of hostesses by Tennessee to attract top players.
The university says appropriate action will be taken if NCAA guidelines were violated.
