BOISE, Idaho (AP) -Boise State coach Chris Petersen has been named Coach of the Year in the Western Athletic Conference and six Broncos earned first team all-conference honors.
The WAC announced Monday that Petersen, who guided the No. 6 Broncos to a 13-0 season and a trip to the Fiesta Bowl, was voted top coach by his peers. It’s the second straight season he has earned that title.
Bronco quarterback Kellen Moore was voted Offensive Player of the Year and named first team all-WAC quarterback. Moore led the nation in passing efficiency with a rating of 167.3. His 39 touchdowns are second best in the country.
Other first-team Broncos include receivers Austin Pettis and Titus Young, offensive lineman Nate Potter, defensive end Ryan Winterswyk and cornerback Kyle Wilson. Young was also named the top special teams player.
