FORT WORTH, Texas (AP) -The west side of TCU’s football stadium has been reduced to a huge pile of rubble.
A planned implosion Sunday morning brought down the high-rising stands and press box at Amon G. Carter Stadium. The demolition is part of a $105 million modernization of the on-campus venue.
It took only about a half-minute for the structure to come down. Workers had been preparing for the implosion since the third-ranked Horned Frogs played their final home game three weeks ago.
Though work on the renovation isn’t scheduled to be completed until mid-2012, the Frogs will play their home games at the stadium next season.
