CINCINNATI (AP) -Coach Brian Kelly is brushing aside speculation that he could be a candidate for Notre Dame’s coaching job, trying to keep his fifth-ranked Cincinnati Bearcats focused on the Big East’s upcoming title game.
Kelly wouldn’t talk about the Notre Dame situation on Tuesday, but acknowledged that in-season coaching changes like the one at Notre Dame make it uncomfortable for those who are rumored to be replacements.
Tight end Ben Guidugli (guh-DOO’-lee) said Kelly hasn’t addressed the speculation with the players, but he wishes he would.
The unbeaten Bearcats play at No. 14 Pittsburgh on Saturday. The winner gets the conference’s automatic BCS bowl berth.
