KANSAS CITY, Mo. (AP) -Kansas’ investigation into Mark Mangino is entering its third week, with the embattled football coach hanging in limbo during an embarrassing time for the school.
The probe into Mangino’s treatment of players began Nov. 16. After the Jayhawks lost to Missouri on Saturday in their season finale, Mangino repeated what he’s said for two weeks – that he’s done nothing wrong and intends to keep his job.
If the Jayhawks are going to dump the second-winningest coach in their football history, the move figures to happen this week. The important contact recruiting period begins Monday and a new coach would want to get on board quickly.
