LITTLE ROCK, Ark. (AP) -Arkansas did all it could, and now it’s a matter of waiting to see if the school earned its first BCS bowl bid.
The No. 8 Razorbacks (10-2, 6-2 Southeastern Conference) won their sixth straight with a 31-23 victory over No. 11 LSU (10-2, 6-2) on Saturday. The win earned Arkansas second place in the SEC West, its highest finish since winning the division in 2006.
Representatives from the Sugar Bowl were at Saturday’s game. However, Arkansas still likely needs Auburn to defeat South Carolina and in the SEC title game this weekend to reach its first BCS bowl game. The Razorbacks haven’t been to what would be considered a BCS bowl since losing to Oklahoma in the Orange Bowl in 1987.
LSU would have likely have earned a BCS spot with a win over Arkansas, but now must wait to find out its bowl destination.
