FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. (AP) -Knile Davis and Zach Hocker have made big plays for Arkansas this season.
How well the sophomore running back and freshman kicker rebound from costly mistakes last week could determine how the 12th-ranked Razorbacks (8-2, 5-2 Southeastern Conference) close out the regular season when they host No. 6 LSU (10-1, 6-1) on Saturday.
Since taking over as the featured back, Davis has rushed for 910 yards and 11 touchdowns in seven games, becoming just the 10th player in school history to eclipse the 1,000-yard mark in a season. However, Davis lost two fumbles last week against Mississippi State, including one late in regulation that led to a game-tying field goal.
The Razorbacks won in double overtime, but only after Hocker – who had missed only one field goal prior to that – missed a game-winning attempt in the first extra period.
