SOUTH BEND, Ind. (AP) -Notre Dame coach Charlie Weis said he would have a hard time arguing if the school decides to fire him for his 6-5 record, saying it isn’t good enough.
He made the comment Sunday after being asked about his quote when he was hired five years ago when he said 6-5 wasn’t good enough. That’s what Notre Dame’s record was when Tyrone Willingham was fired and that’s the school’s record again after a double overtime 33-30 loss Saturday to Connecticut (5-5) on Saturday.
Weis’ 35-26 record gives him a .573 winning percentage.
Athletic director Jack Swarbrick has said he will decide on Weis’ future after Saturday’s game at Stanford (7-4).
Weis said he won’t resign.
