Big Ten football coaches say they will have little influence on scheduling and divisional alignments once Maryland and Rutgers join the conference.
Wisconsin coach Bret Bielema said Tuesday that when Nebraska joined the conference he wasted a couple of days drawing up his ideal plan but had no input. Iowa coach Kirk Ferentz said conference leadership has handled past expansion well and believes adding Maryland and Rutgers will pay off.
Northwestern coach Pat Fitzgerald said that with the money the conference believes expansion will generate he'd like to see players in some way get a share.
