CAMBRIDGE, Mass. (AP) -Yale linebacker Jesse Reising, a senior who has signed up for the Marine Corps Officer Candidate School, left Saturday’s game against Harvard on a stretcher following a helmet-to-helmet hit.
Reising remained on the field for more than 10 minutes while trainers attended to him. He was strapped to a stretcher and wheeled off as the crowd applauded to wish him good luck.
Reising collided with Harvard running back Gino Gordon, who was also hurt on the play. He was attended to by trainers but eventually walked off on his own.
According to the Yale radio broadcast, Reising was voted by his teammates as the most likely to be elected president of the United States.
