Coastal Carolina shuts down Charleston Southern 41-2 Print

 NORTH CHARLESTON, S.C. (AP) -Mike Tolbert ran for three touchdowns to lead Coastal Carolina to a 41-2 win against Charleston Southern on Saturday.
Tolbert had a total of 60 yards on 18 carries and scored on runs of three, one and two yards. William Richardson completed 13 of 16 passes for 127 yards, including a 41-yard scoring strike to Jerome Simpson with one minute left in the first quarter to put the Chanticleers (5-6, 3-1 Big South Conference) up 21-0.
Jamar Anderson had a 53-yard punt return in the second quarter to put Coastal up 28-0.
Coastal's defense shut down the Buccaneers (5-6, 1-3), giving up just two points when Gerald Stevenson returned a blocked point-after attempt with 9:43 left in the game. The Buccaneers failed to convert on 10 third-down attempts.
Charleston Southern was led by Alexius Ferguson who had five carries for 58 yards and DeMarcus Moon who also had five carries for 56 yards.
