DURHAM, N.C. (AP) -No. 7 Georgia Tech has clinched the ACC Coastal Division title, but the Yellow Jackets are savoring the moment for only a moment.
After a week off, they face rival Georgia. Then it’s off to Tampa, Fla., for the Atlantic Coast Conference championship game. They’ll take on either Clemson or Boston College with a spot in the Orange Bowl on the line.
Tech coach Paul Johnson says he’s proud of his team for finding ways to win, but says “we know the biggest game of the year is next.”
Georgia Tech (10-1, 7-1) held steady in the national rankings this week and has its best record through 11 games since the 1990 team started 10-0-1 and went on to claim the national championship in the coaches’ poll.
