Notre Dame coach Brian Kelly is ready to start campaigning for a spot in the BCS title game.
Kelly said in his conference call with reporters on Sunday that Notre Dame's 10 wins against FBS opponents and No. 1 ranking in scoring defense make it a good pick for the Top 2.
Kelly has been saying he doesn't want to get involved in politicking for a spot in the BCS title game. But now that Alabama has lost and the Fighting Irish have moved into the top three, the temptation is apparently too difficult to resist.
Oregon was No. 1 in The Associated Press Top 25, followed by Kansas State. Notre Dame was third after beating Boston College 21-6 on Saturday night. Alabama dropped to fourth.
