EVANSTON, Ill. (AP) -Mike Kafka got another start at quarterback for Northwestern on Saturday, taking the field for the Wildcats’ first series against No. 12 Ohio State.
Kafka ran for a Big Ten quarterback-record 217 yards last weekend in place of injured starter C.J. Bacher, who is still nursing the hamstring injury that sidelined him last week. He was upgraded to probable after Thursday’s practice, and coach Pat Fitzgerald had said the senior would start if healthy.
Bacher had started 25 straight games before getting hurt.
The Wildcats are also without leading rusher Tyrell Sutton (wrist) and his backup, Omar Conteh (knee).
