GAINESVILLE, Fla. (AP) -Top-ranked Florida has clinched a spot in the Southeastern Conference championship game. Just don’t expect the Gators to talk about it.
Coach Urban Meyer would prefer that his players don’t even think about it, especially with four games remaining before the league title game.
Florida’s challenge the rest of the way, beginning Saturday against struggling Vanderbilt, is to stay motivated and avoid a letdown.
The Gators insist it won’t be a problem.
They have the nation’s longest winning streak (18) and are coming off their most complete game in more than a month, a 41-17 victory against Georgia that gave the Gators a much-needed boost heading into the stretch run.
Vanderbilt, meanwhile, has lost five in a row and is switching quarterbacks.
