SEATTLE (AP) -Washington quarterback Jake Locker will start Saturday at UCLA despite a deep thigh bruise that limited him in practice this week.
Coach Steve Sarkisian proclaimed Locker ready to go after practice Thursday. The Huskies have not won at UCLA since 1995 and haven’t won a road game since November 2007.
Locker was injured against Oregon on Oct. 24 when he was hit on the right thigh in the first quarter. He sat out practice last week and was limited in practice this week.
On Thursday, Sarkisian let Locker go at full speed. The coach came away impressed and confident that Locker, the Pac-10 leader in total offense, would get the start against the Bruins.
