 AUSTIN, Texas (AP) -Buck Burnette, the backup center for No. 5 Texas, has been dismissed from the team following a violation of team rules, coach Mack Brown said Wednesday.
The school did not disclose what team rules were violated.
Burnette, a sophomore, played in 20 games for the Longhorns, including seven this season at center or on special teams. He missed the Colorado and Oklahoma games because of an injury.
