BLOOMINGTON, Ind. (AP) – No. 15 Iowa finds itself in the perfect spot this weekend.
At 3-1 in conference play, the Hawkeyes are in the middle of the Big Ten title chase. At 6-2 overall, they’re in position to earn a New Year’s Day bowl bid. And with only one more game against a conference foe that has a winning league record, well, the Hawkeyes seemingly have an easier path to their first title since 2004.
The journey begins Saturday at Indiana.
But this isn’t just another speed bump in the Hawkeyes’ attempt to make a title run.
Indiana (4-4, 0-4) has split the last 10 meetings against Iowa (6-2, 3-1), the only conference team the Hoosiers do not have a sub-.500 record against over the last 12 1/2 seasons.
