INDIANAPOLIS (AP) – Purdue athletic director Morgan Burke wants to focus on the Boilermakers’ final four regular-season games, not their winless start in the Big Ten.
Just two days after the Boilermakers fell to 0-4 in league play, Burke issued a statement Monday acknowledging he’s hoping the team can become more consistent over the final third of the season and win some games.
It certainly hasn’t gone as planned.
The Boilermakers opened this season talking about New Year’s Day bowl games, putting the program back on the national map and hoping to play for a Big Ten crown in nearby Indianapolis.
Instead, it’s been a struggle.
Purdue (3-5, 0-4) has lost three of its last four games by 16 or more points and will hit the road for two after hosting Penn State on Saturday.
