BATON ROUGE, La. (AP) -Whenever LSU has met Tulane in the past few decades, the question hasn’t been whether the Tigers would win, but by how much.
Heading into Saturday night’s meeting in Death Valley, No. 9 LSU has won 17 straight in the series and oddsmakers have the Tigers favored this time by a whopping seven touchdowns.
Tulane has lost 37 straight to opponents ranked in the Top 25, including losses this season to BYU and Houston. But the last time the Green Wave triumphed over a ranked team came against LSU in Tiger Stadium in 1982.
Tulane has lost three straight, but an upset of the Tigers in the 98th meeting of these two Louisiana schools could go a long way toward salvaging the Green Wave’s season.
