STATE COLLEGE, Pa. (AP) – Michigan standout quarterback Denard Robinson is rested after a bye week and anxious to get back on the field when the Wolverines meet Penn State on Saturday night.
The dual-threat star has struggled the previous two games, but he said he’s recovered from shoulder and knee injuries.
He’ll face a banged-up Nittany Lions team that hasn’t had a typically stingy rush defense. Penn State (4-3, 1-2 Big Ten) is eighth against the run in the conference, while Michigan (5-2, 1-2) is the league’s top rushing team.
But Linebacker U. hopes to make a statement in prime time after losing its previous two night games this season.
Michigan is looking for its sixth win and wants to become bowl-eligible for the first time in coach Rich Rodriguez’s three-year tenure.
